On Hiatus

Well, it’s been a boring two years. Nobody seems to be interested in downloading and playing XAOS… and quite honestly, I’m not that interested in it anymore either.

I haven’t played ANY card games since the last update.

The forums keeps going down due to inactivity.

Plus, I have a new job working as a creative consultant, staff reviewer, and Op-Ed writer for Melted Joystick, the social media platform by gamers, for gamers.

I won’t be updating XAOS anymore unless there is an expressed demand for it.

Forums Relaunched

At some point, the XAOS Forums hosted by Star of Dreams went down… actually the whole domain went down. I have no idea when it happened, as someone else was handling it for me. I know it has been down for at least two months, but the holidays and inclement weather have prevented me from doing anything about it.

Now I am pleased to announce that there is a new XAOS forum hosted by freeforums.org.

This one shouldn’t be going anywhere, so please, sign-up and let’s get some comments going on XAOS. I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say.

Status Report: Just Two Left

The art for XAOS currently stands at 98% complete. Only two acceptances from artists stand between you, dear reader, and free SCG playing bliss (hopefully bliss…).

I’ve sent requests to multiple artists for these last two images. Hopefully one of them will provide a speedy response (or any response).

Status Report: Where Did September Go?

Wow, September came and went and I barely noticed it! Of course, I got very little work done on XAOS during September because I spent a week in Washington, D.C. and a week sick.

But there is still progress to note! XAOS now stands at 96% completion. Only four more pieces of art still need permissioning.

Status Report – Almost…

The XAOS Base Set is currently at 91%! Breaking the ninetieth percentile is a pretty big accomplishment, I think.

Thanks again to all of the great artists who have allowed me to use their work!

Even those who haven’t allowed me to use their work have contributed in a way. When I have to look for new art, I usually stumble across some really interesting stuff that I would have missed if I hadn’t been forced to keep looking.

Status Report – Getting There…

The current status of the XAOS Base Set’s illustrations is 86%. I’m still making steady progress despite occasionally slow responses from artists and my own real-life commitments taking a lot of my free time.

XAOS Roots Now Available!

At long last, all of the art for the Roots Mini-Set of XAOS cards has been approved! The set is now available for download. These cards are essential for every deck.

Current Progress on the XAOS Base Set: 81%

Status Report – Steady Progress

Still plugging away… I just wanted to leave a little update with where I am in the art solicitation process:

XAOS Roots: 99% (one more card!)

XAOS Base Set: 80%

Status Report – Slowness GET!

I just wanted to let you all know that progress is still being made on XAOS. I’m a single card away from releasing the mini-set containing the Roots.

I still have a ways to go before the Base set is fully illustrated. The current progress is approximately 75%. That looks like a lot, but art solicitation can be a slow process, especially when an artist turns down the solicitation and I have to take time to scour the web for another suitable image.

Worry not: XAOS has not stalled!
